Nearly 600 Elite Open Water swimmers and Olympians from all over the world compete for the top prize of $10,000 dollars each to the top female and male swimmer! Mere mortals swim the race too, the youngest being a six year old girl! It's a great event that we participate in every year.
Six Santa Barbarians braved the Raccoon straights this year! Here are some shots of the area and of the winners, Kane Radford of New Zealand and Melissa Gorman of Australia….each took home a check for ten grand….not bad for less than 20 mins of work!
