Blue Heron
updated: Jan 24, 2013, 1:00 PM

Went out for awhile with my camera and "captured" quite a few photos of different birds. The overcast
skies helps diffuse the light and saturate the colors of the beautiful birds. Here are a few of a Great Blue
Heron looking for lunch. The last one shows some detail in their feathers (although for some reason looks
a bit fuzzy when emailing pic). I just love their feet!

The colors are indeed more saturated, nice images. For the last shot, which I find appealing, I assume that you cropped unless you had a very long lens or the heron was very accommodating.

if you take any shots in SLO area on your next trip up the coast, how about posting a link to them on the slocounty birds yahoo group. Quite a large Audubon group up here. (Morro Coast Audubon Society). It's a very rich birding area--top 10 in the nation during bird counts. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/slocobirding/messages here's a link to MCAS's Birdfinding Guide for SLO Co: http://www.morrocoastaudubon.org/publications.php

Thanks Seedlady. Will check out your links. I was just up in Morro Bay last Saturday/Sunday. Lots of "birders" for the festival.

If you happen to be a gold fish, The Herons will be feared. I wish I had a few in the yard to keep the rodents in check.
