Patrolling the Trolls
updated: Nov 12, 2012, 10:53 AM
By Rachel Hoyt
Few terse typists amongst the trolls -
Surfing trolls!
Such a stomp of merriment their commenting cajoles!
How they click-clack, click-clack, click-clack,
With icy fingers all night!
While the nannies counter attack,
Keeping comment threads on track,
Patrolling with delight;
Keeping peace, peace, peace,
In a world where trolls won't cease,
Indulging desires to connivingly console,
Extolling like trolls, trolls, trolls, trolls,
Through the black hole that is eating their souls.
Hear the mellow pitter-pat,
Pitter-Pat,
Of locals sharing honest thoughts and questions on edhat.
Through the lifeless keys they write
Of life both good and not quite right.
From their sincere scribbled notes,
A smile and laugh floats,
To the wild-haired troll that listens and gloats
On edhat
‘bout this and that,
Saying there is better news they should be looking at.
For time we stole
They'll make things whole
By joking and wanking too mean to console -
Being trolls, trolls, trolls, trolls,
Trolls, trolls, trolls -
Creating a need for nanny patrols!

Finally, the Edhat nanny does get a little love. Thanks for keeping the trolls at bay.

"Trolls, trolls, trolls ..... creating a need for nanny patrols." What a great line.

That's just the thing though...often the "troll" posts are either the most humorous or though provoking. Rampant nannyism isn't good for any grown adult.

I think Ms. Hoyt may be confusing trollism with simple honest criticism of her "poetry."

I agree with 967 - we are all adults here. Sure, some comments are totally off base or off topic and should be "removed." But I read many deleted comments that present perfectly valid points or criticisms that seem to have been deleted merely for being not happy, peace and love type comments. Either way, we should all be able to act like adults - and be treated as such.....

Do not mess with the Honey Badger Nannies. They will tear you a new one and they don't give a ____ because they are Honey Badgers!

Rachel, this is, in addition to a troll thing, an homage to Poe's "The Bells," right?

I like it, Rachel. Don't like it? or an article? or the Scanner Report? Or a comment? DON'T READ IT. & thanks to the correction re: "arching" vs. "arcing," which has not at this time been nannied. I still want people to be able to properly use "its" vs. "it's." LOL
