Veterans Weekend Fun

With the Veteran's 3-day weekend looming we are looking for some fun things to do this weekend. Any ideas?

Check Educators Roundtable website for all the cool museums in town to visit. See the wine country on a bike with I Bike Santa Barbara Visit Channel Islands through Island Packers or SB Adventure Co. Hike the back country. Take the train or bike path to Carpinteria for lunch and Island Brewing Co. Whale Watching with Condor or cruise on the Celebration. Sail on Sunset Kidd.

Carivintas Winery, 476 First St in Solvang is offering 1/2 cost tasting for all Veterans and active duty military. They are pet & family friendly!

How about talking to your family about the reason for the Holiday. Make a donation to wounded warriors.

018: There's no bike path that goes all the way from SB to Carp. I wouldn't recommend biking on Jameson Lane unless you are a seasoned bike rider. Dangerous enough when you know how to ride well. How fit are you, OP and mate/family? Why not try walking the beach from Hendry's to Leadbetter, if the tide will allow? Take a small trash bag and pick up some trash. That's a fun and healthy and gratifying activity.

Say a prayer or conduct a vigil with family/friends/neighbors for all the veterans who fought, those who gave their life, wounded during the war and carry wounds their whole life.
